A Guide To Your Daily Fit & Confidence - Audrey Hepburn Style

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

Audrey’s spirit was radiant. It glows off her face in every photo out there of her. Its rooted within her soul and her internal life. She was an optimist, and full of positivity with a a divine elegance about her that really made her blaze and light up every street she walked down.

The way she dressed, and her beauty regimens are all fabulous and great hacks, but the best style, or beauty advice Audrey ever gave was regarding our internal self, life. It was confidence driven, and Audrey was all good vibes.

Add some spunk and pep to your step - as well as a smile. And, red lips are a must. Even with a meticulous fashion sense the ultimate fit is confidence, politeness, and a genuine smile. Therefore, wear everything with confidence and vigor.

“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.”

A Wardobe Must - Quality over Quantity

Audrey lived by this fashion mindset. She carried her own classic look which was often simple, albeit tailored. Flawlessly accessorized. Audrey often quoted that her mother would say,”A woman should find a look that works for her and use fashion and its seasonal changes to accessorize it, rather than be a slave to fashion, re-creating one’s look repeatedly.” Audrey was known to have a keen sense for European prudence with a fashion intellect seemingly well-rooted in a long-standing European tradition; invest in a wardrobe rather than purchasing scattered pieces. Save up ladies, and buy quality items that will last you years, not two wears. Also attribute this to your circle of friends as well as to your attire.

Wardrobe Basics - The Essentials

Build up your black and white basics. Audrey often would be seen wearing black on black or white on white fits, slimming turtlenecks and sweaters, capri pants and of course the little black dresses were part of Audrey’s intense fashion M/O. Add some flats, or shoes you like with such a simple look with a classy and casual touch to it and you're good to go and quickly. Pair your fits well, and do not forget your accessories! Always have the essential black and white tops, skirts, dresses and pants; capris too. This gives extravagance to an effortless look. Perfect for all the women on the go and who know they matter so they dress like it. By the way, Audrey firmly believed this - You can never go wrong with an all-black dress or jumpsuit. She was correct.

Flatter Your Body - Know what works

Audrey brought the shoulder bearing boat-neck dress into evolution within the fashion world. She preferred such neck lines for dresses because they hid her skinny collarbone’s but emphasized her stellar shoulders. She knew her body, and what would best suit it. You cannot go wrong wearing what flatters your body type, and style. Always pay attention to and care well for yourself. Know what works best and is most flattering on you and to you. Feel comfortable, and from that streams confidence. Figure out what works for you, is flattering and still carries your style. Guaranteed, you will never have a “bad fit day”, again.

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters.”

Audrey’s most influential tips on our style from the facial expressions we wear, where our mind-set should strive to be - to the boots and sturdy big hand bags - we should be faultless when rocking them are priceless and a perspective to respect and heed the advice it gives. These quotes spoken by Audrey say it all. Enjoy, and remember -

You matter. Dress like it.

“There is more to feminine charm than just measurements. I don’t need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much femininity, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain.”

“Why change? Everyone has his own style. When you have found it, you should stick to it”.

“I never think of myself as an icon. What is in other people’s minds is not in my mind. I just do my thing.”

“Pick the day. Enjoy it – to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come… The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present – and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future”.

Know your worth, build up those basics, and keep your head, heels, and standards high - and, classic.
