Top 1O Ways To increase Your Energy

Yep, we all have our highs and lows when it comes to energy, but if you are struggling to get out of your bed on a good day or after a good 8 hours of sleep then here are our top 10 tips to transform your health and increase your energy.

1. Get Some Rest

Now for some mama's rest is pretty much a foreign state of affairs, but if you can try and get at least the recommended 8-9 hours of uninterrupted quality sleep, then you should begin to see better energy levels within 2 weeks. So, no more staying up until 2am binging on Netflix or scrolling through social media.

2. Drink Plenty Of Water

Dehydration is the fastest route to low energy. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day to combat tiredness and increase your energy. The best way to tell if you're getting enough water is from the colour of your urine. Yellow is a 'no no' and clear is perfection! Perhaps try and set a reminder using the Daily Drink Water App

3. Eat Chia Seeds

Did you know that chia seeds can expand up to 10 times their original size when they are mixed with liquid, which can help you feel full if you are drinking enough water. Chia seeds help keep you hydrated because they release the water they have soaked up as your body digests them and breaks them down.

4. Exercise

Now we all know or should know that exercising daily not only keeps us healthy but can also help to keep us feeling more alert and energised. If your're not big on a full gym session then try taking baby steps and going for a 10 minute walk each day.

5. Take Regular Breaks

Life is full on, we get it, but constantly pushing yourself to the limit leaves you prone to burnout. Whatever your tasks may be during the day, try and take regular 5-10 minute breaks every couple of hours to stretch those legs or switch off from the task at hand.

6. Take a Cold Shower

Taking a cold shower - as horrid as it sounds can immediately increase circulation in your body leaving you feeling highly alert and ready to go! Try taking a cold shower in the morning and see how focused you become in those peak hours.

7. Eat Chocolate

Did you know that a small square of chocolate has just enough Theobromine (a cousin to caffeine) to wake you up but not enough to cause a crash later, says chronic-fatigue specialist Jacob Teitelbaum, MD. It’s also chock-full of antioxidants, may decrease heart attack risk, lifts mood and the best bit - tastes delicious. Try it as a mid-morning snack!

8. Have More Sex

Now, some might complain that they barely have enough energy to get through the day, let alone have sex. But sex can actually increase your energy levels and reduce fatigue. It stimulates brain function, burns calories, increases oxygenation, boosts immunity and relieves stress and depression.
